Stock balances play an important role in the operation of a business, as accurate inventory management is necessary to ensure adequate stock of products.
Depending on your industry and needs, KeyCRM allows you to effectively manage both whole and fractional stock balances:
-
Whole balances are displayed as the quantity of products stored, without fractions. If you sell products by the piece, you can keep track of inventory in whole numbers without specifying decimal fractions. For example, 10 pencils.
-
Fractional balances allow you to display the quantity of products with an accuracy of thousandths of a unit. This is especially useful for products sold by weight or length, such as fabrics, spices, fruits, and others. For example, you can accurately display that there are 6.50 kilograms of apples in stock.
You can keep some products in whole quantities and some in fractional quantities, if necessary:
When working with whole values of balances, simply specify the quantity of products and work with them without any special nuances. When using only whole balances, the system will display only whole numbers, without any decimal points.
How to work with fractional stocks
Fractional stocks do not require additional settings and are always available. To work with them, you just need to specify the quantity of products after the decimal point. The maximum number of characters after the decimal point is 3.
Fractional values of the quantity of products are available throughout the system and in all warehouse operations. You can:
-
specify fractional quantities of products in orders and pipelines;
-
add one-time products to orders with fractional quantities;
-
transfer products to the «Manufacturing» section with fractional values;
-
conduct posting, transfer, and import with the indication of fractional quantities of products;
-
update or receive fractional balances via API.
In KeyCRM, you can effectively manage your inventory balances with precision down to whole or fractional values, allowing you to accurately control your stock and optimize stock management according to your industry and needs.
